April, 2005 Dear Supporters of Concerned Residents of Pebble Beach and Monterey County, The Sierra Club has retained an attorney to sue the County of Monterey over the Board of Supervisors’ March 15, 2005 approval of the Pebble Beach Company’s massive development plans in Del Monte Forest, and also to represent them at the Coastal Commission appeal. By unanimous vote the Supervisors approved the major development plans after just one brief public hearing. The Sierra Club, long an opponent of the development project, has challenged the County
The Concerned Residents of Pebble Beach and numerous other organizations and individuals support the legal efforts of the Sierra Club. As you know, lawsuits require money. The Sierra Club needs your financial support to reverse the County’s action. We are asking you, as supporters of our organization, to generously support this cause.
